Writing an Academic Article: An Editor Writes
I. Maintain a Steady Gaze
A. Contextualize your idea as accurately as you can.
II. Look Behind


In my opinion these general suggestions are very good for a writer who wants to start writing articles. But, I think that some of them are complicated for a beginner writer. Anyway this article is very clear, because it was written in a sequence and it explains each step. Finally I love the last comment that the writer gives: ‘My experience as an editor indicates that those writers who persist, who re-work their article and attempt to grapple with comments, are the ones who finally get their work published.’ This comment encouraged to everybody to fell that they can do a great job with their articles.A. Become conversant with the literature.
III. See your Way Clear
A. You have to do research.
IV. Keep your Eyes Open
A. You have to write up or research your ideas.
V. Something for All to See
A. Get the article written.
VI. See it Through
A. You can improve your writing and submitted it again.

Research. N. a close and careful study to find out new facts or information. ‘He is working on cancer research’ ‘there are a number of classic ways of doing research’
Coverage. N. the extent of news covered by newspaper. ‘The TV coverage of the Olympic games was extensive’ ‘Most journals publish a statement outlining their particular coverage’
Wit. N. humor. ‘His plays are full of wit’ ‘Wit can all be made part of the article’
